Some Lines

Let’s write some lines.
Once upon a time Mallo wrote his last post…ZzZzzz…Okay I got up, now I’m ready to write something else.
What about me? Two things: exams, life.
Now I’ll prepare the last three exams in June and only the thesis will separate me and a Junior Eng. degree.
I’m planning the final thesis in robotics, I think it will be challenging but I like it ;) .
In this months, as you can see from the screenshot, I’m quite involved with GNU/free software/GPL etc. :) . I’ve installed emacs and I’m trying to use it more than ever. I ideologically support badvista campaign and discourage everyone to use Micro$oft Windows Vista.

Another purpose is: find a theme to talk about in my blog.
It’s an hard work :P . There are people who say ‘Every web space must have a scope, transmit something to someone’
Okay, what are the possibility:
- personal blog = nobody reads it;
- geek/nerd blog = only other geeks read it… if you want to encourage people in using free software is the worst choice;
- nonsense blog = only you could read such a stupid bulks of pages;
- political blog = someone will insult you in comments, however you’ll have some.

My choice is Freedom… I don’t intend to write post with any sense, consider the words as the hidden pattern of my thoughts, the only person who can understand the real sense is the one who’s writing now.
So don’t be worry if I’ll write that last midnight I saw a UFO invading my taskbar asking me whoever could they kidnap and my answer is a eog BillGates.gif (yes, eye of gnome show me ‘Il signor Cancelli’ in the horrible gif format)…They’ll wink at me, xkill.

Good programs you should look:
scrot,emacs,mutt,slrn, screen,freetalk,bitchx,gnunet

Tic Tac, tiC taC, tic tac toe?!? It’s about half past midnight and I’ wondering what about my blog. Here it is, once around the block. I remember a song :P , is it the correct meaning? btw it sounds good.

Now what am I doing during this lapse of time? Obviously I have belt in double over my spell-book trying to carve a formula that models the perfect automaton… I can control it through AL, use my ability in SFC to supervise Its behaviour, endeavour to fuse sensors, compute the fft of audible signals, recreate a neural net to improve It, increase Its belief with the UKF.

Muahah, Pinky and the Brain  would be proud of me.
I’ll ask to Jack, the honorable samurai if the robot could be useful in his wandering.

Okay, no jokes, I’m wondering what about the Mushroom? I don’t believe that everybody delete it from their memory.

My Circle

Let me cast my shade on this page once again, I’ve spent almost a month without a word. The thought were wandering, looking for new form of expressions and contents. I read some pages of “The Book of Dave” with all its neologisms and oddities, I reasoned on mixing up Italian and English words, recreate semantic hues from a pure syntactic interpolation of characters. I weighted this opportunities. I reflected about how to let sensations flowing in an understate manner…
The obvious thing is: why lingering, talking about your life when nobody is interested, nothing but words you should talk about and they erect for you a wall of imaginative concepts.
What is the aim of this blog? nothing but practise with words, in a sort of game where the sorcerer casts his mighty and mysterious spells…he’s longing for the perfect knowledge, the sum of all the arts, that can be obtain only by the recursive serpent….Try to draw a circle…a spell is made by magic words, he can imagine a spell where the effects are other magic words…now in this obscure ritual he reads that second one that cause a third to be born…
This is how out magician is creating the world… we should obey him and imitate…in the Circle there’s no end.

The Truth

Wow, in its whole life this blog has not been endorsed with a single comment ^_^ How mirable, how fantastic!
Anyway, some news about me:
- I’ve passed FCE with grade C. In the prospect by the school is shown that Reading, Listening, Speaking, Use of English are Grade B while Writing is sunk in E grade. I guess the gap was caused by my horrible calligraphy, I believe the commission didn’t manage to read my second piece of work. Nonetheless is okay for me to be promoted at Uni;
- My uncle Paolo got married with Isabella, after being engaged for about 15 years is an epochal event for all us;
- I had a pain in my back for 7/9 days, it was rather annoying;
- I bought two headphones for Elisa and me to talk each other and try VoIP software;
- Marco and I are still trying to finish a scripting project for Uni. It turns to be very boring and we are compelled to use programming languages that are not the most adapt for the problem we are intent solving;
- I finished my second Kakuro ( difficulty : easy)

I think Elisa, her family and I are going to stay at Menaggio for the weekend.

Okay, I reckon that this post lacks of originality… now to conform to most blogger who posts a song or a quote in every message I’ll add some lines from a year old song I listened yesterday night at the radio:

…forse fa male eppure mi va
di stare collegato
di vivere di un fiato
di stendermi sopra al burrone
di guardare giù
la vertigine non è
paura di cadere
ma voglia di volare
( Mi Fido di Te – Lorenzo Cherubini [Jovanotti])

Wow ^_^. Simple and clean, I like it.
I installed WOW on my Gnu/Linux with only little problems and now runs perfectly.
I followed this tutorial to set the CD-ROM device correctly;
Then I used my cousin’s account to run the game, download the patches etc…
When I entered the game everything works….except a problem with the mouse that doesn’t target anything :\.
I solved the problem in some hour…. a simple direct way is:
Installing the Wine HQ repository with synaptic
(only binary, source is not required);
Then update wine package at the last version.
Simple? Yeah it is :P

Now you can enjoy the game ^_^. Here there are two screen-shot taken from my PC.

Athlon XP 2800
ATI 9000pro (with proprietary drivers)
512Mb RAM
Wine 0.9.19
mallo@malluntu:~$ glxgears
10509 frames in 5.0 seconds = 2101.764 FPS
wow ingame

Summer News

It’s time to write another post. The delay between this and the last message seems considerable. The matter is that, finally, even your workaholic :P Mallo went to vacation. I stayed from 19Th July till about a week ago with Elisa in her family house in Menaggio. I spent lovely day with my love :) exchanging hugs and kisses and relaxing ourselves.
I returned home to do a sort of homework for the Uni and then I hope to come back at the lake and stay the last days of August by Elisa.

Changing subject in something more trivial:
- I tried to create a sudoku solver in java ( I’ve done the 89% of the work);
- I’m attempting to read as many books as I can due the shortage of spare time in school-months;
- Probably a good deal of other tried/trying things which don’t pass through my mind now;

Oh and some news:
- Elisa now swims in the water of the swimming pool (She was a bit frightened by it till this summer);
- She got the first sips of beer ( She prefers Heineken);
- She learned to dance Samba ( or Salsa,… I think the first);

Gnu/Linux news :
- free Ubuntu sticks ;
- Evolution 4 Window$ (get rid of your awful outlook) ;
- I had a look at Gtk libs for Java: java-GNOME ;
- referring at the above content have a look at this tutorial java-eclipse-gtk-glade ;
- two bash scripting guide in italian : simple advanced ;

That’s all ;)

Few Games of GO

Today, the anti eve of Economics exam, I’ve spent some spare time to play GO.
For the unaddicted of this splendid board game a brief description from wikipedia;
And now a curious poem by Jorge Luis Borges:

EL GO

y agradezco a mis númenes
esta revelación de un laberinto
que nunca será mío.

My awful English translation:

GO

Today, 9th September 1978,
I held a little disc in the palm of my hand
one of the three hundred and sixty one which are necessary
in the astrologic game of GO,
another chess game from Orient.
It is the eldest in the eldest writing
and is board is a universe map.
Its white and black variations
are doomed to end up the Time.
Inside it the man can lose theirselves
like in love and day.
Today, 9th September 1978,
I, who ignore a great deal of things,
know that I ignore one more (of them),
and beg the Gods
for this revelation of a labyrint
that won’t ever be mine.

I’ll link two of my newbish matches in the game format:

Oh, some interesting info about the singer of The Brilliant Green from two wikis: KamaseTomoko , Tommy Heavenly6

Tomorrow I’ll attend the exam of Operations Research. It’s a really nice subject and I believe I’ve understood it. However I need relaxing. Magically I’ve found on YouTube some videoclips of The Brilliant Green, one of my favourite j-pop groups. Even if I’m not capable of catching a single word in Japanese this song remind me of peace and tranquillity :) . If you are in similar situation have a listen ;)
